Lycamobile beat rivals in the Telecoms sector to win prestigious accolade
Lycamobile, the world’s biggest international mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), has been named the ‘Most Popular Website Of The Year’ at the Website Of The Year Awards for the Telecoms sector.
Lycamobile pipped eight rivals to the post, including EE, Vodafone and Virgin, taking almost 50% of the votes in the Telecom category. The votes were based on content, design and ease of navigation, for which Lycamobile scored an average of 9.2 out of 10.
Allirajah Subaskaran, Group Chairman of Lycamobile, said, “This award not only recognises our focus on quality and a superior customer experience, but also shows that this effort has also not gone unnoticed by those who matter most – the general public. Our customers are the driving force behind everything we do; every innovation, deal and project. We are committed to keeping our customers and website visitors happy and being the best in sector – and it is this that has been the key to our growth and ultimately our success. We couldn’t be happier!”
Lycamobile has had a busy year, with numerous announcements, including launches in Tunisia and Romania. This has allowed Lycamobile to continue providing low-cost high-quality international service calls to over 14 million customers, now across 20 countries, with plans for further expansion into Latin America and Asia. Other announcements include an MVNO deal with O2 and being named sponsor of the British Ethnic Diversity Sporting Awards for the second year running.
The Website of the Year Awards has been running for five years and previous winners have included BMW, Coca-Cola and Apple, and this year included 19 categories across sectors including automotive, banking and charities, as well as telecoms.
