Lycamobile pledges support to Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day

Lycamobile, the largest global provider of low-cost international mobile calls, has this week pledged its support to Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.

Now in its third year, the charity is asking even more people across the UK to join the woolly revolution to help ‘make the world better with a sweater’ and raise funds by wearing a Christmas jumper.

In the run up to Christmas Jumper Day – this year falling on Friday 12th December – this Thursday will see Lycamobile host a private skating session at the Lycamobile Ice Rink at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland. This year, to help raise awareness of the Day, it has donated 150 tickets to the event to Save the Children.

All invitees are encouraged to showcase an exclusive preview of their Christmas jumpers when they hit the ice, serving to remind onlookers of Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day and encourage them to take part and donate.

Allirajah Subaskaran, Group Chairman of Lycatel, commented:
"We have long supported the work of Save the Children and this was a great opportunity to contribute to the success of the charity’s Christmas Jumper Day in a useful and practical way. The Lycamobile Ice Rink has proven to be a great stage for our brand and we are delighted to be able to share it in pursuit of such a good cause."

Douglas Rouse, Corporate Partnerships Director at Save the Children, said:
"We’re delighted that Lycamobile is using its private skating session to promote Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. We hope that this encourages more people to sign up, don their festive woolly and donate on Friday 12 December. The money raised will help us to continue our vital work to save children’s lives around the world."
