Lycamobile launches 4G in Italy through partnership with Vodafone
Lycamobile, the world’s largest mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), has today announced the launch of 4G data services across Italy, in partnership with Vodafone, its mobile network operator (MNO) partner in the region.
This launch will provide Lycamobile’s customers in the region with access to high-quality, high-speed data services at no extra cost, provided by the enhanced 4G platform. This will allow them to access faster, more reliable downloads and web browsing, a feature of growing importance for customers as data driven activities account for an ever-increasing amount of mobile usage.
This development demonstrates Lycamobile’s dedication to providing customers with the best possible services available in its existing markets, as it continues its ambitious international expansion plans. With an estimated 50.7 million mobile phone users , and smartphones predicted to account for 68% of all data traffic in the region in the near future , Italy is an important region for Lycamobile.
Lyca Group Chairman Allirajah Subaskaran has said of the launch, “This development marks the latest step for Lycamobile as we implement 4G across our global network, with the goal of providing customers with access to the best possible services at the most competitive prices. This upgrade, which will come at no extra cost to our customers, will further enable them to stay connected with friends and family both at home and abroad.”
This announcement follows similar advances in Sweden and Australia last year, and Spain earlier in 2017. Lycamobile is dedicated to ensuring it delivers the very best services to its customers, with this launch being part of a wider 4G implementation strategy across its global network.
