O2 has announced the multi-year renewal of a wholesale agreement with the world’s biggest international MVNO, Lycamobile. The terms of the deal will see Lycamobile use the O2 network as part of its global infrastructure to continue providing competitively priced calls to Asia, Africa, Europe and America.
The announcement follows recent deals with Sky and TalkTalk to use the O2 network to support their offerings to customers. O2 has an established track record as an MVNO network partner for brands such as Tesco Mobile and Giff Gaff. O2’s strong network credentials have helped it enjoy industry-leading customer satisfaction results which are underpinned by a unique commitment to 98% 4G coverage in 2017.
David Plumb, Digital and New Business Director at O2 said “Having partnered with O2 for six years, Lycamobile understands the benefits of a robust network and brilliant customer experience, which is why it has renewed its relationship with us for a second time. We are committed to supporting MVNOs in the market and are therefore delighted to be extending our relationship with Lycamobile”.
Lycamobile chairman Allirajah Subaskaran commented:
“Having a strong network partner is essential for us to deliver a great offering for our customers and our long-standing relationship with O2 allows us to do just that. We are constantly working on behalf of our customers, to improve the quality and price competitiveness of our service. This has been key to our growth and ultimately our success.”
