Lycamobile Launches 4G in Spain through partnership with Telefonica
Lycamobile, the world’s largest international mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), has today announced that it has expanded its operating network agreement with Telefonica to launch 4G data services across its Spanish network.
This development will provide an improved service to Lycamobile’s 1.934m customers in the country, underlining the company’s commitment to enriching customer experience in its existing markets as it continues to expand internationally.
Spain is one of the European leaders in smartphone penetration, and as such Lycamobile’s customers will particularly benefit from access to the high-speed, high-quality data service delivered by the enhanced 4G mobile internet provision, which will allow faster, more reliable downloads and streaming.
Lyca Group Chairman Allirajah Subaskaran said, “The introduction of 4G services in Spain demonstrates our commitment to Lycamobile customers in the country, who will benefit from the availability of fast, high-quality data. With approximately 10% of Spain’s population being made up of foreign-born citizens, this development will make it quicker and easier than ever for our customers to connect with their communities and loved ones across the globe.”
This announcement marks Lycamobile’s eleventh 4G launch, following recent developments in Sweden and Australia last year. The firm continues to explore further opportunities in this area, to ensure the ongoing delivery of best in class services to its customers.
