Lycamobile celebrates Chinese New Year
Lycamobile, the largest global provider of low cost international mobile calls, will be celebrating its platinum sponsorship of the Chinese New Year celebrations by hosting a bespoke event on Friday 8th February in its London head office.

The event will commence with a ‘Chinese Lion Dance’ performance – a traditional dance in Chinese culture in which performers mimic a lion’s movements in a lion costume. This will be followed by speeches from Milind Kangle, CEO of Lycamobile and the President of LCCA (London Chinatown Chinese Association).

Lycamobile is marking its first year of Platinum sponsorship with a weekend full of celebrations in the capital to mark the New Year of the Snake including lion dancing, kung fu demonstrations and Chinese acrobatics in London’s Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square.

The free event will start in the capital at 9am and finish at 6pm. The festive parade will start from North of Trafalgar Square and end at Shaftesbury Avenue in Chinatown. Speeches will take place at Trafalgar Square at 12pm from well respected figures including the Chinese Ambassador to the UK and the Lord Mayor of Westminster. Following this ceremony, Chairman of Lycamobile, Allirajah Subaskaran will dot the dragon eye on the main stage signifying the ongoing partnership between the company and the LCCA.

Allirajah Subaskaran, Chairman, Lycamobile comments:
"Many of our customers will be celebrating the Chinese New Year this weekend and our sponsorship of all the fantastic events is a great chance for us to give back and honour our strong relationship with the community.
