Lycamobile donates £5,000 to Cricket United
Following the success of Cricket United Day last month, Lycamobile, the largest global provider of low-cost international mobile calls has continued its longstanding support with a £5,000 donation to the appeal.

The second Cricket United Day - which took place at the Kia Oval on Saturday 16 August - saw Lycamobile along with players, fans, commentators and other key stakeholders come together to turn the KIA Oval blue to help improve lives through cricket.

Cricket United, the joint fundraising appeal that brings together UK charities Lord's Taverners, Chance to Shine and the PCA Benevolent Fund in an effort to raise money to support the wider cricket community, has seen nearly £60,000 raised for the charities so far this summer.

The £5,000 donation cheque was presented to Wasim Khan, CEO of Chance to Shine, Jason Ratcliffe, Assistant CEO of the PCA, and Paul Robin, CEO of Lord's Taverners by Lycamobile CEO Chris Tooley and Omar Khan Global Head of Sponsorship and Events on Tuesday 2nd September.

The money will further bolster the funds raised from the day to help the Lord's Taverners give hundreds of disabled pupils across the UK the chance to represent their schools at competitive cricket. It will empower Chance to Shine to give one thousand schoolchildren the opportunity to play and learn through cricket and will enable the PCA Benevolent Fund to continue to run a confidential helpline, providing advice and treatment to players suffering from mental health issues.

Lycamobile Chairman, Subaskaran Allirajah commented:
"Throughout our partnership with Cricket United we have been consistently impressed with its people, its proficiency and its passion. When it comes to making charitable donations, we look for companies which share our vision for a healthy connected community. Our work with them thus far has been incredibly rewarding and this is a cause we are incredibly proud to invest in."

This donation comes as the final part of the summer cricket campaign which has seen Lycamobile sponsor both Surrey County Cricket Club and UK Test Match Grounds while also launching the first ever cricket focused SIM card.
