Jim Cumbes received the Special Merit Award for his exceptional contribution to cricket in England and Wales over the last 50 years. Previous winners include Tony Greig, Dickie Bird and Jack Bannister.

The award presented by England cricketer, James Anderson, was given in recognition of Jim’s dedication to the sport, which saw him capture 515 wickets in 288 First Class and List A matches over the course of his 35 year career in cricket. He has played for a number of clubs, including: Lancashire, Surrey, Worcestershire and Southport, and also taken on a variety of roles from Chief Executive of Lancashire CCC, to West Midlands radio presenter.

An entirely not-for-profit enterprise, all proceeds from the PCA Awards go to the PCA Benevolent Fund, designed to help current and past players adjust to a world beyond cricket, providing specialist advice or assistance where needed.

Lycamobile was also a partner in the incredibly successful Cricket United campaign in support of the PCA Benevolent Fund and continues to champion the future of the sport and its players.
